Her response was a pattern of restrictive eating, which left her exhausted of energy during the day and resulted in late-night binging. It was a vicious cycle that took its toll emotionally and physically.

She points out that even if animals had a good life before slaughter (rare in factory farming), they all meet the same terrifying and violent end at the slaughterhouse. Her message touches on the fundamental question: Why wouldn't we choose that path if we can lead happy and healthy lives without harming others? For Michelle, there's no excuse for causing harm when alternatives are available.

@darrellsawczuk Meet Darrell Sawczuk, a compassionate soul with 5.1k followers who shares a powerful message: "Until All Are Free." In his world, all views are his own, but they're rooted in a deep commitment to animal welfare and ethical living.

One day, He stumbled across a film on Netflix called ''OKJA''. It's a fictional film regarding overpopulation and the farming of a ''super pig''.

Although it was fictional, there were so many comparisons to reality that this film hit hard, so much so that he decided to become vegetarian as soon as the film finished.

A year later, he watched ''Earthlings.'' he knew what the documentary was about but had no idea what to expect and what he was about to see. After seeing the footage of animal farming in the food, fashion and entertainment industries, he decided never to eat animal products again.

he couldn't pretend that he had not just witnessed mass murder. he could not forget what he had just seen and would never consume another animal product.

Heidi and Andy

@vegan.soulmates Introducing Andy and Heidi, a fun-loving couple in their 50s enjoying a joyful vegan lifestyle. They were both already vegan when they met for the first time.

The more they learned about one another, the more they discovered how compatible they were and how their morals aligned.

Both promote veganism wherever possible and in many forms, i.e., social media and branded clothing (Andy’s been known as ‘that Vegan’ at his gym for years!). Heidi will take in vegan treats for her volunteers at the charity shop she manages for them to try. (Vegan Snickers are always a big hit!).

From attending activism events together, they are keeping fit and visiting new places whenever they have time away from work. Their love for food has meant they have tried many vegan eateries since being together.

We recommend a visit to a few favorite local-ish restaurants. Figaro’s in Winger-worth (Chesterfield) is 100% vegan, which is important as we always try to support vegan businesses wherever possible. Their menu varies from Sunday roasts to breakfasts, world cuisine, and delicious desserts.

We had our first date at Cafe Roya in Nottingham, so this restaurant will always have a special place in our hearts. Often changing menus, they offer a great selection of vegan dishes, so no two visits are the same.

Heidi is the main cook in the relationship, which she loves to do. ‘She usually throws a dish together, but occasionally, she chooses a recipe from one of their vegan cookbooks. During the week, she tends to keep it quick, healthy, and easy as she works long hours, so something like a stir fry or a salad.

Then, if they eat at home on weekends, they will be a bit more adventurous. She loves to do yoga and practice most days. She used to organize activism events with her son Ross ‘Cube of Truth’ at Derby and Nottingham and met many local vegans this way.

Andy is in great shape, takes fitness pretty seriously, and does nine gym sessions consisting of running and weights, a swim, and a yoga class every week.

He rescued an Alaskan Malamute, Amy, seven years ago and dedicated much of his time to her wellbeing. Big dog means long walks! Andy has slowly integrated Amy into Heidi’s household with two shorties.

Being Vegan is the focal point of their lives and allows them to find each other. They will never stop discussing animal cruelty and continue spreading the vegan message.

Sabrina

@sabrina.the.vegan Sabrina, a dedicated vegan influencer with a passionate following of 4.3k individuals, is eager to share her remarkable vegan journey. She became vegetarian ten years ago as soon as she found out what meat was. Most people don't do that. Since then, she's been vegan for the rest of her life.

At first, it was tough; Sabrina was the only vegan she knew, so she didn't have any friends or people who could help. She had to learn everything on her own, and being from Arizona all the time, she became vegan, which was like eight years ago.

There were minimal vegan options, so it was a hard transition for her. Sabrina did it, but the beginning was tough for her. Fast forward to her moving to NYC. There are so many vegan options here, so it's nice to shift, to see that there are actually plenty of places where veganism can exist, not just survive or thrive and have a wonderful time with vegans.

There was a period and time, though, when she started her Instagram when she experienced a lot of drama: her close friend passed away, her dog passed away, COVID began to happen, and she fell into a disorder of eating very restrictive she focused on more veganism and was very unhelpful.

She was saying a part of COVID-19. She really liked being restricted a lot and isolated. She gained a lot of weight, and it was very, very hard. She cannot emphasize how starting to reach this restaurant and documenting vegan food and vegan products changed her life from eating unhealthy to checking out this restaurant.

Seeing the vegan scene really broke her out of her pattern of eating unhealthy by going to all these restaurants and checking these products and things; she started meeting people in the vegan community here in NYC. Now, most of her friends are vegan. So she went from 2 years ago being a vegan only.

She knows that most of her friends are vegan. This is such a beautiful thing. She feels like having vegan friends is so important because those are people who really understand you, they know your morals, and they understand your values more than sometimes even someone over family, so having this kind of community is so vital to Sabrina.

Lisa

@the.tinyvegan Lisa, a Vegan Tattoo Artist boasting 6.1k followers, believes that being vegan doesn't have anything to do with following some "trend", eating healthy or even 'being ethically superior' to others or whatever else. It is simply about the animals. If you want to support animal abuse by buying meat, milk, cheese and eggs, that's completely your choice. It goes beyond just healthy eating or choosing products from so-called "happy" animals on organic farms.

In her eyes, there's no such thing as a "humane" killing, and she's passionate about debunking this myth. The idea of wanting a happy animal to die is simply perplexing. Lisa's unwavering commitment to veganism stems from her deep love for all animals, not just the ones we keep as pets. Her journey is driven by compassion and a genuine desire to make the world a better place for every sentient being.

Sarina Farb

@bornvegan1 Sarina Farb, a vegan influencer with 7.7k followers, has been vegan since birth and throughout her entire life! She is a Midwest-based vegan educator, public speaker, and liberation activist working to make the world a better place for all beings.

She was raised vegan from birth and chose to stay vegan since then because veganism is a justice movement and the very least we can do for our fellow earthlings. Sarina believes that if we have a choice, one choice causes unnecessary harm, violence, and death to innocent beings, and one choice doesn't. We are morally and ethically required to choose the nonviolent option - that's veganism, and that's what she spends her time educating people about!

Being raised vegan from birth has been the biggest blessing in her life, and She's so grateful to her parents for teaching her to stand up for justice even when it's unpopular or controversial.Today, Sarina focuses on combining heart and science to empower individuals to think critically, see past corporate propaganda, and live ethically.

Sharing her life experience, Sarina believes that the meat and dairy industries are selling you lies and trying their hardest to make you think you can't go vegan. She has been thriving on plants her entire life, and you can, too.

Amy Longard

@amylongard Introducing Amy Longard, with 4.8k followers, a vegan influencer. Nothing excites her more than discovering new plant-based foods and products, mostly healthy stuff, and trying out new restaurants!

Amy believes in promoting a healthy lifestyle. She works because it feels good and makes her happy. She chose to walk as much as possible because of her love of being outside, drinking lots of water and eating tons of veggies & fruits, as it gives her energy, great digestion, & stamina for this crazy, fun journey that is life.

She has been vegan for nearly 10 years now, and becoming vegan was one way she was able to reduce her footprint. Still, it was also the gateway that led her to start using eco-friendly products: household and skincare, zero-waste food wraps, bamboo toothbrushes, metal straws, carrying around reusable cups, containers & cutlery, reusable grocery bags, and avoiding food waste.

While She was pregnant and even now as a new mom, She get questions all of the time about her vegan pregnancy and raising a vegan baby. But for most of it, She didn't really think about or study nutrition related to pregnancy. Lauren Karl

@justveganin Meet Lauren Karl, a vegan influencer with 5k followers whose journey into veganism was fueled by a profound love for animals. She feels all beings deserve the right to live a full life, and veganism gives all living beings that possibility.

"If we all do a little, things can go a long way." - Lauren Karl.

Lauren became a vegan 13 years ago, and the biggest reason for this was her love for animals. Ever since she was a child, she loved animals and wanted to be a vegetarian. As she grew up, she chose a different career path, but her fondness for animals stayed strong, and after learning about all the cruelty in the dairy and meat world, it just made sense for her, both ethically and for her own well-being, to embrace a vegan lifestyle. She couldn't digest dairy well, so going vegan turned out to be a healthy choice for her, too.

To anyone out there interested in veganism or eating less meat, she would say do your research. Learn about the benefits and find the reason for yourself as to why you want to do it. The exciting thing is we are living in a time where there are so many vegan restaurants, vegan food recipes, and options out there.

Pauline

@veganyummyideas Meet Pauline, a vegan influencer with 2.9k followers. She went vegan 7 years ago, and one thing that always surprises her is that she could never do that, the type of reaction I get from people.

In 7 years, she has never felt veganism is challenging to achieve. When you realize that you’re harming animals unintentionally because of your eating habits and that you decide to stop, everything becomes more accessible. You don’t see meat as food anymore. You don’t feel bad when you refuse to eat something in social settings. You learn about nutrition and find the foods you enjoy.

Veganism is not about restricting or missing out on the good things. It’s about having a change of perception and finally aligning your actions with your beliefs.
