Hi, It’s me Robert, your favourite food blogger. It’s not long since I turned into a vegan from being a typical non vegetarian kind of a foodie, I was motivated with saving the planet and eating cruelty free food and what not! But trust me being a vegan is not that bad, I have been to each and every vegan corner in Cardiff, and I’ve got to taste some of the most unique lip smacking menu items in Cardiff!
So, I thought about reaching out to all my fellow vegan community members with this post as a guide to food hopping in Cardiff. If you are a herbivorous, carnivorous or just enjoy tasting unique food items, then this post is for you. Find out more about the best restaurant recommendations in Cardiff below in this post.
If I had the option to tell you what my best vegan restaurant choice is in Cardiff, I would say it was going to this amazing place named Anna Loka. I personally like a formal setting while dining out, and this restaurant just delivered spot on for my expectations. They offer awesome healthy and 100% pure vegan meals.
Their best item on the menu is vegan pizzas with vegan cheese! They also offer a variety of food choices in their menu, some of the other dishes they serve are vegan sausage sandwiches, salads, smoothies and juices (and coffee of course)! I would surely recommend this place to all my vegan buddies, it has the perfect setup for hanging out, going on a date, or just for enjoying their warm dining environment.
The second place on my list is Milgi’s. It’s also a vegan restaurant, and they have a lot to offer! Their food tastes so good, you won’t even feel that there is no meat on your table! This place is surely recommended for a group of friends who are looking for a place to enjoy delicious food and have a blast. Their menu is wholesome and you would love coming here again and again. And also they have the best vegan chocolate cake in Cardiff. I recommend not to miss out on this delicacy!
I also checked out some popular vegan restaurant suggestions on the website Beveganism and visited the most loved vegan restaurant in Cardiff, The Atma Lounge, and believe me, it was one of the finest vegan restaurants I had visited in some time. The Atma Lounge is a vegan restaurant Cardiff city centre that serves an array of delicious, healthy food.
It is one of the best vegan restaurant Cardiff vegan restaurants Cardiff, and it offers great vegan dishes at affordable prices. I tried the vegan pizza which had a delicious base, veggies and a cashew cheese sauce. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they even offered me a free drink when I told them that it was my first time in Cardiff and that I didn’t know where to go. . They serve a variety of dishes at The Atma Lounge, including pizzas, burgers and wraps. I also ordered their vegan chicken burger and it was amazing!
The final place I would recommend visiting is The Moos! This cafe is just amazing, they have the best coffee Cardiff (Yeah it’s vegan too). Their menu offers a variety of healthy dishes, including acai bowls made with homemade granola and vegan sausage sandwich. There are also plenty of vegan desserts, including peanut butter cups and chocolate-covered bananas. The restaurant also offers a variety of smoothies, juices and coffee drinks. The acai bowl is one of the most popular items on the menu. It’s made with homemade granola and topped with fresh fruit, almond butter and coconut flakes. The vegan sausage sandwich also comes highly recommended by customers who say it tastes just like meat. The smoothies are also made fresh daily, using organic ingredients whenever possible.
Cardiff's thriving health food scene has made it easy to stay healthy on a plant-based diet. There are plenty of shops here in Cardiff who sell vegan products, which make it easier to sustain the vegan lifestyle! Cardiff is a great city to live in and it’s certainly one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the UK. It has an amazing selection of vegan restaurants and cafes, as well as many supermarkets that sell plant-based products.
Here are two of the best vegan stores, I would recommend visiting if you are a vegan in Cardiff:
This vegan store in Cardiff is one of my favourites, and I couldn't write a blog about being vegan Cardiff without mentioning Beanfreaks—for health food and superfoods, this is my go-to store. They have a wide variety of products, from organic grains and legumes to superfoods. They also have a great selection of vegan cheese and dairy-free alternatives. The store is bright and airy, which makes it a great place to shop. They have everything you could possibly need for vegan cooking including seeds, nuts, grains, spices and herbs. I love the range of products they have, from fresh produce to superfoods and health supplements, and they even have a vegan cafe on site! The shop is small but well-stocked, with a range of products that includes everything from organic fruit and veg to supplements and superfoods. They also sell their own brand of beans, grains, seeds and nuts—all of which are certified organic.
There is one more store in Cardiff, you would regret not visiting it, it's Simply V, the first 100% vegan store Cardiff. It carries everything from cheese & meat substitutes to chocolate and even lollipops! It's definitely a place where you want to go and check out some vegan products, accessories and more. It also offers a range of vegan cosmetics. The store is small but very well-organised and the staff is super friendly. I also visited the store during a vegan festival and had the chance to meet some amazing brands like Funky Fields and PETA. I loved that Simply V is about more than just food, it's about lifestyle! You will find yourself wanting to spend hours in this store, looking at all the products and reading all the labels. If you're a vegan, it's a must-see place!
Although I’ve focused on only a handful of places, there are many more that you might want to check out—for example: The welsh cake stall in Cardiff indoor market that now sells vegan welsh cakes!! It is one of the best Cardiff Vegan friendly bakeries in the city.
Also, a few other recommendations to find the best vegan street food in Cardiff are The Chelsea bun and blueberry brioche stall that offers its wares on Fridays and Saturdays at St Mary’s street. The vegan cappuccino at Bread Meats Bread on Broad Street. The vegan bacon butty at the Ploughman’s Lunch bar in Blaenclydach. The vegan cakes at the Fitzroy Street Bakery (I know, I’m always talking about them but they really are amazing). And there are loads of other places that sell veggie burgers or falafel wraps—check out some of my other posts on this blog for suggestions. The gluten-free carrot cake stall at the Bristol indoor market. The Eccles cakes, which are delicious and vegan, are sold at various stalls around Cardiff.
